Join us for our open mic night featuring author and stand-up comedian Stephanie Ginese. Free refreshments & free expression. This event is free and open to all. The location is Flavor'd Flow Dance Studio, 379 E Barthman Avenue, Columbus, OH  43207. There is free parking at the John Maloney Family Health and Wellness Center across the street. Stephanie Ginese is an author, instructor and stand-up comedian from South Lorain, Ohio. Her work has been featured in Las Palabritas Journal at Harvard University, The Pinch Journal at University of Memphis, Wax Nine Journal and elsewhere. Her debut collection of poetry, Unto Dogs, was released in July of 2022 on Grieveland; focusing on themes of Puerto Rican nationalism, history, reproductive violence and spirituality. Currently, she lives in Cleveland with her two children, where she attends Cleveland State University working towards a B.A. in English with a minor in History. Onda Latinx Ohio is a DIY initiative to promote Latina creative visibility in Columbus. The group is Latinas and allies united to create a safe space for emerging and established writers and artists to showcase both process and product and enjoy mutual encouragement. The primary focus is to promote women of color feminist cultural production to connect voice to audience. Associated with the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at The Ohio State University, the group celebrates Latina Ohio experiences to foster solidarity in diversity.This event is co-hosted by the Center for Ethnic Studies, the Latinx Studies Program, the Humanities Institute and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.  Flavor'd Flow Dance Studio America/New_York public
