In Celebration of Cesar Chavez Day
In Celebration of Cesar Chavez Day the Latina/o Studies Program at OSU Salutes the Millions of Latina/o Working People Making a Difference in the U.S. in Ways Big and Small
Cesar Chavez (1927-1993) worked tirelessly to improve working conditions and life for agricultural workers as co-founder and leader of the United Farm Workers. He championed the rights of all working people, and was a particular advocate for the full civil rights and economic/social/political inclusion of all Mexican Americans. He led strikes, boycotts, marches, rallies, fasts and embraced non-violence in all actions.
